AI Game Master: The Ultimate Player’s Guide

Welcome to AI Game Master—the infinite, text-driven RPG where imagination meets AI. Whether you're jumping into your first magical quest or crafting a post-apocalyptic opera, this guide is your scroll of secrets—from basic moves to deep mechanics.

🧭 Starting Your Adventure

When you launch a new adventure, you have two options:

  1. Pick a Theme
Choose from popular story genres—fantasy, sci-fi, horror, cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic and more. These are quick, curated templates.

  2. Build Your Own Quest
Want full creative control? Choose your own setting, introduce lore, drop in world rules or backstories. It’s your universe now.

🎨 Important: You can write your own rules, but the AI isn’t built to enforce them. It might try to follow them as story flavor, but don’t expect strict logic or hard mechanics. It’s more like a storyteller than a referee.

🌍 Your Adventure Begins With a Goal

Every adventure starts with a main goal. It could be something like:

  • Rescue the princess

  • Defeat the dark overlord

  • Escape the burning city

  • Steal the sun from the sky

This goal sets the initial tone of your story.

You decide the pace. Rush toward your goal for a punchy quest, or stretch it out and build a slow-burn epic. Once you achieve your main goal, the game will ask if you want to continue. If you say yes, it will generate a sequel with a brand-new goal based on your previous choices.

🎭 Creating Your Character

Your hero starts with just a description. It can be a single sentence or a whole paragraph. Based on that, the AI builds your character sheet, which includes:

  • Traits (e.g., Force, Intellect, Charm and Endurance.)
Each trait is scored 1 to 5—but you can break the limit if you insist.

  • Force is the only trait that affects hard combat rules (your max damage).

  • Other traits serve as soft context, influencing how the AI interprets your actions.

🧪 The more vivid your character description, the richer your gameplay.

⚡ Leveling Up & Mana System

As you play, you earn XP (experience points) for doing all sorts of cool things:

  • Finishing encounters

  • Discovering items

  • Adding NPCs to your party

  • Completing goals

  • And more…

Every time you level up, you get Mana Points. You can spend these to:

  1. Boost your traits

  2. Unlock or create special abilities

🌀 Special Abilities

These are story-driven powers, generated by the AI or designed by you.
Examples:

  • “Time Echo” – lets you reverse a single decision in your next scene

  • “Shadow Bind” – freeze a character in place with your mind

  • “Beast Tongue” – talk to animals and monsters

🧱 Note: For now, these abilities don’t directly increase damage or HP. They’re about narrative flavor and tactical depth, not raw stats.

🎒 Inventory & Items

Your bag of tricks grows as your story unfolds:

  • Items are found naturally in the adventure.

  • They can be tools, weapons, keys, or just weird magical junk.

  • Some items have special powers. You can use them creatively—combine them with traits, actions, or story elements.

Item logic is flexible. The AI will interpret how they’re used, rather than applying strict rules.

🛠️ Example: A “Fire Charm” might help light a cave, intimidate an enemy, or burn through magical vines—but it won’t give you +10 damage (yet).

🤝 Your Party: Companions & Chaos

You’ll meet NPCs (non-player characters) on your journey. Some may offer to join your party.

  • Max party size: 4 (including you).

  • Companions have their own traits, inventory, and background.

  • You can control them directly, or let them act on their own.

  • Want them to be loyal sidekicks or unpredictable wild cards? You decide.

You can also direct their actions in combat, make them scout ahead, or just argue over whose turn it is to carry the loot.

⚔️ Encounters & Combat

When things get dangerous, you enter Encounter Mode.

This is where turn-based mechanics kick in:

  • You describe your action

  • The AI calculates your chances based on your traits, inventory, and context

  • The enemy reacts

In Encounter Mode, you can’t flee — the only way out is to either defeat the enemy or convince them to join your team.

Your options include:

  • Fighting

  • Using items

  • Using special abilities

  • Talking your way out

The AI resolves your choices dynamically. Be creative. Smart moves and clever storytelling get better results.

💡 Example: “I roll under the ogre's legs and stab upward with my enchanted dagger” is way cooler (and more effective) than “attack ogre.”

You can also turn random encounters on or off in the Adventure Menu — perfect for when you want full control over the pace of your story.

⚙️ A Word on Rules

🚫 Let’s clear this up once and for all:

You can’t enforce custom rules in AI Game Master.

Sure, you’re welcome to write your own rules into the lore of your world — like ancient laws of magic, secret dueling codes, or guild traditions. The AI might even try to respect them for flavor and consistency.

But here’s the deal: the game isn’t built to strictly enforce those rules. There’s no system running in the background to validate if your players followed your sacred “Rule of the Three Trials” or broke the “Oath of Silence.”

🎭 And that’s by design.
AI Game Master is all about freedom, creativity, and improvisation — not rigidity and rule-checking. That flexibility is what makes the stories wild, surprising, and memorable.

You set the tone. The AI weaves the rest.

🧠 Pro Tips & Tricks

  • Narrate with flair. The more flavor, the more fun. Plain actions lead to plain results.

  • Play with themes. A horror-themed romance is just as fun as a comedy cyber-heist.

  • Talk to us! We’re always adding new stuff. Your voice helps shape the next big update.
